Coach Darren Thompson

Coach Darren Thompson has lived in Peoria, Illinois his entire life and has been continuously employed with the American Red Cross since 1996 as a Manufacturing Supervisor. He has been with the JEMS Organization since 2011, coaching the Crystals and Pearls, the 5^th and 6^th-grade girl’s travel teams.

Coach Darren played basketball at Woodruff High School where he where he graduated in 1986.  After graduation, he joined the United States Marine Corps and was honorably discharged in 1990. He then attended Illinois Central College where he studied Business Management.  

One of Coach Darren’s proudest achievements was being ordained as Deacon at his church and where he now serves as the Superintendent of Sunday School for the church brotherhood. He loves the game of basketball and now brings that love and dedication to the JEMS Basketball Organization.
